Not a stable place for a notebook.,
While this cooling stand does do a decent job of cooling, it has a terrible flaw that I can’t overlook: The rear stand is a fold-out set of “legs” that only barely lock into place. If you try to go your laptop & stand away from you on the desk, the legs have a tendency to fold up, and the rear of the stand falls and hits the desktop. It’s not designed to balance at all without those unstable legs, and when they are folded out, there’s no real locking mechanism to prevent them from folding back in when you go the whole unit.
Currently, mine has a bunch of tape wrapped around the folding rear legs to keep the thing from falling under the weight of my laptop when I open the lid. This is terrible design. It should either have locking legs, or be able to stand solid without having the legs folded out.
I’d say avoid this one if you have a choice. It’s not worth it.

|Works well…while it lasts.,
I got this product awhile ago, and I used it every day with my laptop (which tended to overheat to the point of powering off unexpectedly). The cooling pad worked wonders…while it still worked. After about two months with the pad, the adapter plug on the back of the pad broke and sunk into the pad itself so that the adapter can’t be plugged in, making it pretty much useless.

|Just the thing I was looking for,
I like the design, very slick. Would be fantastic if they have more color choices but the white is clean looking too. It raises your laptop up and the cooling fan circulates the air underneath. I bought it from Best Buy on sale for 20 bucks so I can’t really say it’s worth buying for 50 bucks. It does wonder cooling my HP laptop for it gets extremely hot real quick. This is my second Belkin products, the other is an orange laptop cushion which was fantastic too. I used this only when my laptop is hooked to the battery because the cooling hub uses your laptop’s power. Overall, I’m pleased with my buy.
