This review is from: Connectland CL-NBC-STDFAN Plastic Ergonomic Laptop Cooling Stand for 12-Inch-17-Inch Notebook PC (Electronics)

I’ve been using this laptop stand for about two months now, and I read several reviews of laptop stands before deciding to buy this one. After reading reviews of some of the other stands, I became concerned that the size of my laptop might make stability problems. I’m pleased to report that this stand holds my computer with minimal wobbling as I type. The sides of the computer extend about an inch beyond the stand on either side. The USB powered fan is silent and sits unobtrusively underneath the middle of the computer. The swivel feature turned out to be an unexpected, pleasant addition.

There are a couple of mild negatives that prevented me from giving this stand five stars. The front tabs that hold the computer in place protrude slightly and can be annoying to my wrists. One of the tabs also blocks the front-loading CD drive slot, so if I want to insert or eject a CD I must lift the computer off the stand. If I want to close the laptop, I must go it back slightly in order to miss the tabs. These are only minor inconveniences and would not have prevented me from purchasing this stand if I had known about them ahead of time.

Lastly, the price seemed very nice compared to most of the other laptop stands I saw.

This is a wonderful product. I do believe it works fantastic in the lap. In fact I believe it’s the best product for using your notebook on your lap. I’ve used another cooling fan, which helped, but the notebook still warmed up my body. This products will lift the notebook up so there is an air space and a fan. The product is well made and very sold.

There are two negatives. The largest negative is that the notebook can fall over. When the notebook is lifted up, then you open the screen up, the center of gravity can shift to the back of the notebook, causing the notebook to fall backward. This is worth a star because if you’re not careful you might hurt your notebook. I believe a long rubber band across the front of the notebook, or a string, or maybe a clip might prevent this problem. But a solution should be included with the product.

A second smaller problem is this. There are five levels. The first level being flat and the other levels lifting the back of the notebook higher up. I wish there was a notch between the first level and the second level. I really found the second level to be a small too high and reckon I would like it better if it was not raised so high. But when placed on my lap, this is not a huge problem. That this product solves the heat problem is much more vital.

An update on the above review. I bought some plastic Scotch Fasteners and stuck one to the bottom of my notebook and one to this product. They lock together and solve both problems I listed above. With this addition I would give this product another star because it works fantastic, but Amazon will not let me edit the stars.

This is the one of the best laptop cooling stations. Period!

It has a solid base and a adjustable fan, which is completely independent of the base. So you don’t have to worry about the surface of what you’re resting it on blocking the fan at all. You can have it right on your lap and sit but you like without a problem. The fan BLOWS on the laptop which is a plus, rather than the stations that suck the heat away and never really cool the laptop.

As for the other review about it tipping over if the screen is tilted too far back, it may just depend on how heavy your screen is. Because I just tested it by bending my screen all the way back and I even rocked back and forth a small with it on my lap, and the station didn’t even go. The adjustable elevation also prevents this from happening by raising the fulcrum on which the weight rests. Plus it has 2 clips at the bottom with rubber grips that keep your laptop from sliding off or tipping over. So with that in mind, tipping over is probably a very rare occurrence.

Nearly 6 months later and it still works as excellent as it did on day 1. Anyone looking for a cooling station for their laptop should certainly consider this one.
