This is my homemade notebook cooler that cost me around 3 dollars and some random computer parts I had sitting around the house. This is used on my Asus EeePC1000H but this could be used for most small to midsize laptops.

holy ghetto batman
I have noticed how the USB is limited 2 5v if I got a usb hub which could take like 6 usb’s could I place like 12 fans in this thing?
I have an ancient PS2 and xbox lying around, I guess I will use the fans out of them.
lol u really are a NOOB , cooling a netbook the size of a mobile phone LMAO
Why the hell do you need a cooler for a netbook?
this netbook does not need any type of cooling!!! that is not a notebook. that is a NETBOOK
Where should I place the fans? Under the fans of my computer? Or somewhere else?
12v fans on 5v USB? Just make sure the internal fan is working right, that the heatpipe fins are clean and that you aren’t blocking the intake vents in the bottom (who is the dumbass engineer that place intake vents on the bottom anyway – stupid go).
this is useless if you have a macbook pro
I would never ever used that… thing :O
are 2 fans marked DC 12V, 0.15A safe (for PC as well) to be powered by single USB? Thanks for your tutorial. BTW the fans have 3 wires coming out, a white one too. I guess I should ignore that?
@heatednemz They are pulling the air out of the laptop because the fans which are already operating within the laptop are forcing air out of the case. The design of airflow should match the preexisting fan placement of your individual laptop and can be easily customized by placing the fans of the binder in conjunction with your vents/fans of your laptop
Hi, I have a question, Are those fans blowing air towards the latptop from underneath? or are they sucking the air into the binder and out the sides?
@missholland98 No, the fan in your laptop is part of the heatsink assembly. If you remove the fan, more than likely your cpu will overheat.
Brilliant, you are a really excellent trainner, and thoughts seller my congratulation!
or you just buy a buyable cooler
Can i remove the fan from my laptop if i have a notebook cooler??
@dontstealmycandy sorry…….. i stole your candy haha
Fake duct tape… Fuct tape?
@Nikos870
Most likely not, and at least not “at full force”
Maybe, It “might work” but I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t even go.
The reason for me to say this is that from a single USB You can AT MOST get 0.5 Amp at 5V (= 2.5 Watt)
And as You can see Your chosen fan is rated at 0,84 so the power is there, but the fan is rated as “starting voltage=7V” and You can’t get that straight from USB.So the question is if it will go slower or just stand still.
Just my 5C hope it helps
@Nikos870 if i remember correctly Usb can handle 12 volt power.
This is a awesome thought i have been thinking of ways of how to make a box to do this and this is way better than my thought of thinking of getting some sort of box.
But i am concern in how well the binder can hold onto a laptop about 2.5kg
if including my hand i am guessing about 3-4kg ish
Holy duct tap batman!
Very impressive. The Binder is a fantastic thought because it has a natural angle. Tape is not a excellent thought to secure fans. Today there is a multitude of inexpensive hardware choices. Two part epoxy might work well also. I like Proto-Type Engineering. Reckon about it as a career choice. You are a excellent speaker as well. Keep it up.Excellent luck.
