Excellent, product as described, tendency to overheat.,
I bought this to replace my original charger for my HP Pavilion dv6000, which broke at the part that connects to the computer. Quick delivery, it came as described, it’s a real HP charger, not a generic knock-off. As someone else mentioned, the cord (the half that plugs into the wall) is pretty small, so I did as they did and swapped that for the original, since that part was undamaged. I also wrapped it with electrical tape around where the first one had broken to prevent it from bending and getting hurt, as someone else suggested.
Had it nearly a month now and it mostly works fine. One thing I noticed from the start is that it causes my laptop to overheat much more than the other did. In over a year with the original cord, I could count the times it overheated on one hand. This one will overheat like crazy if you’re not careful. I like using my laptop on my bed, which was fine with the other, but this one it overheated every time. I made myself a makeshift desk out of the lid from a plastic bin and that works fantastic. As long as I keep the laptop on that, it seems to be fine, doesn’t really overheat. As long as you’re careful and use a surface or a lap desk it’s not really a problem, I would still recommend this for the price.

Im the kind of guy that doesn’t like to buy replacement parts. I have HP DV6000 laptop and needed to change its charger. I recently bought this item because it said that it was HP original charger. Guess what? It was!!! It’s new and it works wonderful.

|Stopped working after three days,
I would absolutely NOT recommend this product. I bought it thinking that it would be more reliable than the $.26 ones, since it was directly from HP, and it stopped working after two or three days. I was extremely mad and the only reason I didn’t return it was because I went to radio shack and they tested it and found out the cheapest part of the cord, the part without the power block, was not working. It cost $8 to replace so I went ahead and did that. Still, this product sucks and doesn’t work for very long at all.
