Fantastic addition!,
I have a Dell Mini 9 with Mac OS X 10.6. When running skype, netflix, hulu, my computer used to get quite hot and would start to choke. This product makes the netbook work perfectly when running processor intensive apps.
Since I connect my netbook to a 22in monitor, keyboard, & mouse, running this is not a huge deal. I wouldn’t want to carry it around with me tho.. But, I find I don’t need the cooler when doing basic tasks such as email, web surfing, etc..
So if you find your netbook choking when its hot, and runs perfectly after being shut down for a bit, then this will solve all your issues.

Given its low price, this pad is decently valued, but I would recommend ponying up for a higher quality cooling pad if you can. The foot protectors all slid off after a month or two which made wherever I placed the pad a small slimy with adhesive for a couple weeks (not quite as yucky as it sounds). The fans have been less and less effective as time goes on. At first it worked, then they got a small finicky about the surface I place it on. For a few months, they only worked when I place it on a desk and now they pretty much never work.
It keeps my lap from getting unbearably hot but does virtually nothing for my laptop, and to be honest, even when the fans worked, it was not very effective in cooling the laptop. It will keep the heat off your lap and might help your computer a small, but if you’e genuinely concerned about keeping the temp of your laptop down, I’d recommend something else.

|Noisy, but my thighs aren’t cooked.,
I’ve had this for six months now. It keeps my thighs and my netbook from getting too warm. The convenience of a usb fan is a excellent trade for losing some battery time. There are two negatives I’ve learned. 1) the silicone foot protectors fall off, the glue used to place them on was poor. I’ve lost one entirely and I’m having a hard time finding one to fit, (but I suppose I could cut one down.). 2) The fan has developed an intermittent rattle. Even with those two issues, this is a fantastic small fan for the price and I’d certainly recommend it.
