Very pleased with this Laptop,
I finally broke down and bought a new laptop after my ancient, honestly reliable Dell Inspiron gave out after 7 years and a couple hardware upgrades. I chose the 17 inch Toshiba Satellite L675-S7108 with full size keyboard and number pad after much research. The machine is sharp looking and lighter by about 2 lbs than the Dell. I don’t reckon it would be much of a chore to carry around at all. The keyboard is full size and responsive, no problems with the touch pad, and having the number pad is very helpful. The screen resolution really is gorgeous and comes with a magnifier option which I am still trying to figure out. I reckon it will prove useful for me as I sometimes have problems seeing small items. It’s so nice having 17 inches of viewing space rather than straining to see on one of those ridiculous net books. Windows 7 premium is installed and reliable. The machine is extremely silent and extremely quick to include start up. Within a few moments I am at my desktop. Did not come with much bloatware (unnecessary software) at all. Sound quality is fine for laptop speakers using the preset settings. DVD drive is silent and watching a DVD on this huge screen, again, is a pleasure. Have not used the webcam yet so I can’t comment on it. I would recommend this computer to anyone who is looking for a quick, silent, simple to use, light, reasonably priced 17 inch laptop.

I never owned a laptop before this one, but this computer is everything I expected and more. I bought a excellent, protective case for it, a Targus, which has the Dome Protection System, and costs about $80, but is well worth it. The machine is quick, the keypad is fantastic (except some of the punctuational key markings are a bit too small) and the screen size is very impressive. Clarity and definition are as excellent as you can get, and the entire machine is responsive and quick. I am impressed with the capacity, although I don’t do gaming or anything fancy. For email, general business work and researching, this computer has made me a believer, and I certainly do not miss my desktop unit any longer. I travel a lot, and find the Toshiba L675 simple to hook up and use in hotels or anywhere. The case is stylish, with a clever design worked into the construction. The only downside is the speaker, which is of general tinny, low quality, like all laptops. The simple solution is to buy a bar speaker or a set of small, compact speakers that fit in the generous-sized Targus case, and set them up to enhance the sound. When you do, you can’t tell the sound quality from that of a desktop.~~

As a blogger and sports writer this laptop is simply incredible! My wife and 11-month ancient daughter have already hijacked this modern marvel of a machine.
This is my first-ever laptop and since I work 8-11 hours this is perfect for all of my blogging and writing needs, the unit loads up quick, the keys are very responsive and the look and feel will certainly draw eyes. I really had a co-worker come over to my cubicle and tell me that he was jealous!!
What I like the most about this laptop is that this can do everything your desktop PC does but in a right mobile platform, and the look and feel of this beast is pure stealth!!!
Be sure to invest in a excellent bag and slip, as I have come to learn that there isn’t a whole lot of accessories for a 17.3′ laptop, choose wisely. This laptop is wonderful for doing just about anything and everything you need to do.
